Former Foreign Minister János Martonyi chaired the panel discussion on the 35th anniversary of the Vienna Convention on International Sale of Goods on July 6. At the meeting it was announced that Hungary on this day will withdraw its written form declaration under the Convention. The meeting was part of the 48th session of the UNCITRAL between June 29 and July 16.
The COPOUS plenary took place in Vienna between June 10-19. The Hungarian Delegation was led by Dr. Fruzsina Tari, section head at the Hungarian Space Research Office of the Ministry of National Development. She delivered the Hungarian Statement, which highlighted the major events and achievements of Hungary in the field of space research over the past year.
The government commissioner responsible for the Paks2 NPP new build project, Dr. Attila Aszódi, lead the Hungarian delegation on April 8 during a roundtable discussion with senior officials from the IAEA. The Hungarian team also included Mr. Gyula Fichtinger, Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority and other senior officials. The consultations were opened by Ambassador Károly Dán and Mr. Mikhail Chudakov, IAEA Deputy Director General.
On March 9, 2015, a meeting of the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) IAEA Drafting Group was convened at the premises of the Hungarian Permanent Mission in Vienna in order to exchange ideas regarding the Action Plan to be elaborated on the role of the IAEA.
The CTBTO Working Group B met between March 16 and 27 in Vienna. Dr. István Bondár, senior seismologist at the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences participated at the meeting.
The Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) convened for its 58th Session during March 9-17, 2015. Ambassador Károly Dán presided over the interactive discussion on Drugs and Human Rights.
On February 23, 2015, the CTBTO Secretariat convened an Informal Consultation meeting of subscribing states with the aim of changing the target date of the Conference on Facilitating Entry into Force of the CTBT (Article XIV), and approving member-state applications for the Article XIV Presidency.
