The 55th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is takes place from 19 to 23 September 2011 at the Vienna International Centre.

The head of the Hungarian delegation is Mr. Pál Kovács Deputy State Secretary for Energy Affairs from the Ministry of National Development. The members of the delegation are Mr. Iván Tamás Kovács Deputy State Secretary for International and EU Affairs from the Ministry of National Development, Mr. Balázs Csuday Ambassador, Permanent Representative, Head of the Hungarian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Mr. József Rónaky Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority, Mr. Gyula Fichtinger, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority and other experts from the Ministry of National Development, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority and the Hungarian Permanent Mission in Vienna.

According to a Rotation scheme agreed on for the period of 2006-2015 by the members of the Eastern European Group (EEG) - Croatia, Albania, Romania, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Macedonia, Latvia, Belarus -, at the General Conference in September Hungary and Bulgaria will be nominated by the EEG as non-permanent members for the IAEA Board of Governors for the period of 2011-2013. Accordingly, in the next session of the Board of Governors to be held on 26th September 2011 Hungary will participate as a non-permanent member of the Board.
