Opening ceremony of the ART VIENNA-BUDAPEST program and an exhibition from the collection of the Austrian Gaudens Pedit Gallery

The Hungarian Mission to the UN in co-operation with Art Market Budapest on the 8th of May 2012 held the opening of an exhibition from the collection of the Austrian Gaudens Pedit Gallery.

The exhibition also constitutes the launching ceremony of a project called “Art Vienna-Budapest”. The event was opened by Mr. Zsolt Németh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Francesca von Habsburg, Director of Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary and Attila Ledényi, Director of Art Market Budapest.

The guests were also welcomed by Mr. Balázs Csuday, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Hungary to the UN in Vienna and by Mr. Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Ambassador of Hungary to Austria. The “Art Vienna-Budapest” program aims to encourage cultural exchange between Austria and Hungary and to acknowledge the efforts of those individuals and institutions whose activities helped strengthen these links for the benefit of art lovers in our countries.

The opening exhibition presented a unique selection of works by leading Austrian and Hungarian artists curated by Gaudens Pedit, distinguished Austrian gallery owner and collector. On display are works by Ursula Buchart, László Fehér, Nóra Soós and Hans Staudacher.

The exhibition is open to the public at the Hungarian Embassy on Tuesdays and Fridays from 09:00 to 13:00 until the 30th of June. (Address: 1010 Vienna, Bankgasse 6)
